At the prime of his career, Angus T. Jones was making $300,000 per episode on Two and a Half Men. Just imagine bringing in this type of money at the age of 17… Angus was thriving and as it turns out, he was the only person Chuck Lorre wanted to see at the start. Per usual, the network decides to bring in several actors to read for a certain role. However, this wasn’t the case for Jones. He was the only one to read for the part, and was a natural.

Chuck Lorre reveals, “He was so not the child actor. He was just having fun. I don’t think he cared if he got the job. He was just having a good time.”

Despite the success, things almost ended on a sour note after Jones made public remarks about the show, and how it was regarded as ‘filth’. Jones made this statement because of his religious beliefs at the time. Jones did change his tone after the fact, apologizing to the show for the moment. He also revealed that his thinking might’ve been flawed.

“I got pretty doomsday with my thinking for a long time, but now I’m having fun and enjoying where I’m at.” Jones admits. “I no longer feel like every step I take is on a land mine.”

He’s in a different place nowadays, enjoying lots of family time. However, there’s a major reason his parents decided to stay out of the spotlight during his fame.

Kelly And Carey Jones Kept A Low Profile Because Of Their Past Arrest

Prior to their LA move, Kelly and Carey Jones were living in Travis County, Texas. In 1997, things took a twist, and not in a good way. According to Daily Mail, the pair were arrested. Kelly was arrested on assault charges.

Daily Mail writes, “Carey had Kelly arrested on an assault charge after he allegedly pulled her out of a car and pushed her to the ground. She later dropped the charge, but Kelly was ordered to complete an anti-violence class.”

The ordeal would take yet another twist when this time Carey was arrested on burglary charges. Though it should be noted that the charges did not stick and were eventually dropped. “Carey was arrested the same year on a burglary charge, which was later dismissed ‘pending further investigation,” Daily Mail writes.

Nowadays, Angus T. Jones is living a different life. He felt lots of appreciation for his life at school post-Hollywood. For the first time in a long time, the actor felt as though the focus wasn’t on him, and he was out of the spotlight. In addition, he was loving the family life, especially getting to spend extra time with his brother.

Given all those years on Two and a Half Men, along with the schedule attached, extra time might’ve been few and far between for the child star. At the very least, he got to enjoy his $20 million net worth later in life, which really isn’t a bad thing.

In addition, Angus has positive memories look back at his time on the sitcom. He said, “Without qualification, I am grateful to and have the highest regard and respect for all of the wonderful people on ‘Two and Half Men’ with whom I have worked and over the past ten years who have become an extension of my family.”

Angus was also able to make a return in time for the finale. According to Chuck Lorre, he had a blast reuniting with the former cast members, and his return was well-received behind the scenes. Sadly, the same ordeal did not take place with Charlie Sheen…
